With incredible foresight and great organisation, my classmates had zealously set out to fill up our calendar with places to go as part of our gastronomical expedition while in Paris.
The next available date we got for our reservation at the world renowned restaurant Alain Ducasse au Plaza Athénée was two weeks away!
It was definitely worth the wait though. The place was ostentatiously chichi (check out the amazing Swarovski chandeliers on the link above!), service was impeccable, wine was remarkable, and the food was outstanding and utterly sinful.
For starters, I had four juicy scallops prepared in a fusion of coconut & curry. Main course was poached chicken (hey I can do that!) in a heavenly foie-gras sauce. For those of you who do know, I'm not one who takes a liking to foie-gras...but this truly was exceptional. To top it off, the waiter appeared with a gi-normous white truffle and started shaving it off onto my foie-gras sauce. So despite all of us ordering three courses, the savoury & sweet petit-fours kept coming our way throughout.
We emerged extremely satisfied with this marvelous experience and a very grand bill...
